Can I Upload Videos to My Podpage Website?
Updated over a week ago

Unfortunately, Podpage does not directly host media files, including videos. However, we've made it easy for you to showcase your video content by integrating with popular video hosting platforms like YouTube, Vimeo, and Facebook Video.

Check out the different areas you can add videos:

This section of the helpdesk will show you all kinds of options for adding videos to Podpage.

Embed Videos in show notes / blog posts, etc...

  1. Upload Your Video to a Hosting Platform: Before you can add a video to your Podpage website, you'll need to upload it to a compatible hosting platform. We recommend using YouTube, Vimeo, or Facebook Video for this purpose.

  2. Obtain the Embed Code: Once your video is uploaded and ready to go, navigate to the video on your chosen hosting platform. Look for an option to share or embed the video. Each platform will have slightly different steps, but generally, you'll find an option to copy an embed code.

  3. Embed the Video on Your Podpage Website: Now that you have the embed code, head over to your Podpage dashboard. Navigate to the page where you'd like to add the video and enter editing mode. Look for an option to add media or embed code.

  4. Paste the Embed Code: In the media or embed code section, paste the embed code you obtained from the video hosting platform. Make sure to save your changes once you've added the code.

  5. Preview and Publish: Before making your changes live, preview your page to ensure the video appears and functions as expected. Once you're satisfied, hit publish, and your video will be live on your Podpage website for your audience to enjoy!

Why Use External Video Hosting Platforms?

While it may seem more convenient to upload videos directly to your website, using external hosting platforms offers several benefits:

  • Faster Load Times: Video hosting platforms are optimized for streaming, ensuring fast load times and smooth playback for your audience.

  • Greater Reach: By hosting your videos on platforms like YouTube and Vimeo, you can tap into their vast user bases and potential for discovery.

  • Analytics and Insights: Most hosting platforms provide analytics and insights into how your videos are performing, allowing you to refine your content strategy based on viewer engagement.

  • Reliability and Scalability: Hosting platforms are designed to handle large volumes of video content, ensuring reliability and scalability as your audience grows.
