Managing Unwanted Messages with Podpage's Blocking Feature

Updated over 10 months ago

Your contact page is an invaluable tool for connecting with your audience, but unfortunately, there may be instances where individuals use it to communicate topics that are not relevant or desirable for you to receive via email. To address this concern, Podpage offers a feature that enables you to block specific words or phrases, ensuring that unwanted messages are filtered out from your inbox. This article will guide you through the process of setting up this feature effectively.

Understanding the Blocking Feature

When you enable the blocking feature, users submitting messages via your contact form won't realize they've been blocked. From their perspective, everything appears normal. However, any messages containing the blocked words or phrases will not be emailed to you. Instead, they are conveniently diverted to a separate section of your Podpage dashboard for your review.

Setting Up Email Blocking

  1. Access Your Podpage Dashboard: Log in to your Podpage account and navigate to the "Connect" section. Click on "Contact Form."

  2. Access Contact Form Settings: Within the Contact Form section, locate and click on the "Settings" option.

  3. Define Blocked Words: In the Settings menu, you'll find a section labeled "Blocked Words." Here, you can specify the words or phrases that you want to filter out from incoming messages. Ensure each word or phrase is separated by a comma.

  4. Save Changes: After adding the words or phrases you wish to block, don't forget to hit the "Save" button to apply your changes.

Monitoring Blocked Messages

Once you've configured the blocked words, any messages containing those terms will be automatically redirected to the "blocked" tab within your Podpage dashboard. This allows you to easily identify and manage unwanted communications without cluttering your primary inbox.

By utilizing the email blocking feature provided by Podpage, you can maintain control over the content you receive through your contact form, ensuring that your inbox remains focused on relevant and valuable communications from your audience. Take advantage of this feature to streamline your email management process and enhance your overall experience with Podpage.
