If you're experiencing issues with embedded YouTube videos not loading on your Podpage website, you can follow these troubleshooting steps to resolve the problem.

If you see "An error occured"

This typically means the video link is incorrect, and the video can't be found.

Step 1: Double check the link

  1. Go the Podpage dashboard where you entered the link.

  2. Copy it and paste it into your browser bar.

  3. If it doesn't work, that means the link is wrong.

  4. Go find the right link and paste that into Podpage.

If it does work, please email support so we can see what the issue is.

"Video Unavailable"

If you see this issue, it means the link to the video is correct, and the embeddable widget is set up properly. There is no issue with how you've added it to Podpage. The issue is 100% a setting on the YouTube side. So to solve this issue, you need to go to YouTube and check some settings.

The issue is 100% a setting on the YouTube side

Step 1: Check Video Privacy Settings

The first and most crucial step is to ensure that the embedded video is not set to private on YouTube. If the video is set to private, it won't be viewable on your website. Here's how to check the privacy settings:

  1. Go to your YouTube Studio dashboard.

  2. Navigate to the video in question.

  3. Click on "Edit" or "Visibility."

  4. Make sure the video is set to "Public" or "Unlisted."

Step 2: Verify Copyright Status

Another common issue that can prevent videos from displaying is copyright claims on the video's music. To check for copyright issues:

  1. Review the videos on YouTube that have stopped displaying on your Podpage website.

  2. Look for any copyright claims or copyright strikes on these videos.

  3. If you have the necessary licensing certificate for the music in the video, proceed to the next step.

Step 3: Consider Changing Video Privacy

If none of the above steps resolve the issue, you can try changing the video's privacy settings to "Unlisted." While this might not be ideal for public videos, it can sometimes help if you're facing persistent problems.

  1. Go to your YouTube Studio dashboard.

  2. Navigate to the video in question.

  3. Click on "Edit" or "Visibility."

  4. Change the video's privacy setting to "Unlisted."

If you've followed these troubleshooting steps and the issue still persists, please contact our support team for further assistance. We'll be happy to help you resolve any remaining issues with embedded YouTube videos on your Podpage website.
