How do podcast reviews work on Podpage?
How do podcast reviews work on Podpage?

A quick guide to how we handle reviews from Apple and other sources.

Updated over a week ago

Reviews are a fantastic way to get feedback from your listeners. Podpage comes with some built in features to make collecting and showcasing your reviews easy and effective.

  • Importing reviews from Apple Podcasts

  • Allowing users to submit reviews through your website

  • Showcasing Reviews on your website

  • Sharing Reviews on social media

Note: These features are available for Pro Accounts.

Importing reviews from Apple Podcasts

Once you've entered your Apple Podcasts ID, Podpage will start importing reviews. You can verify you've entered that at Publish → Reviews → Settings.

We check about once a day, and will check the 🇺🇸 United States Apple Podcasts by default. If you'd like to check a different country, go to the Publish → Reviews → Settings and change the default country.

You should get an email every time a new review is imported, and you can find your reviews in the Publish section of the Dashboard

Allowing users to submit reviews through your website

You can also let users submit reviews directly through your website. To turn this on, go to Publish → Reviews → On Site Reviews and turn on On-site Reviews

This will add a form to your website where users can submit a review directly. The quicklink to get to this page is yourdomain.com/rate.

Showcasing Reviews on your website

The Reviews Page

By default, all 4 and 5 star reviews from Apple Podcasts will show up on the Reviews page of your website. We will never publish reviews under 4 stars.

Site-submitted reviews will be hidden until you decide to publish them. We set them this way so you can review them and make sure the content is appropriate / not spam. To un-hide them, go to your Reviews section of the dashboard and toggle the Hidden setting.

You can also show off great reviews at the bottom of your homepage. Podpage shows the most recent few by default, but just go to the Reviews section of the dashboard and click Feature on Homepage, to show off any review on your homepage.

Sharing Reviews on social media

Each review has it's own, sharable page. Just share the URL on your favorite social network and the preview will really stand out and make your podcast look amazing.
