Internal links help search engines crawl your site, understand how pages relate to each other, and identify which content is most important. With Autolink enabled, Podpage creates those links for you—automatically and consistently—without any manual setup.
How Autolink works
Autolink builds internal links based on existing focus key phrases.
Once enabled:
You set a focus key phrase for an episode, blog post, or video as part of your normal workflow.
Podpage scans every page on your site for that phrase.
Whenever the phrase appears, Podpage automatically links it back to the original content.
Links update automatically as your site content changes.
You do not need to manually add, edit, or remove links.
Enabling Autolink
To turn on Autolink:
Go to Grow
Select Search Engine Optimization
Enable Autolink
After enabling it, Autolink works automatically across your entire site.
Using focus key phrases with Autolink
Autolink uses the focus key phrases you already assign when editing content.
You can set a focus key phrase for:
Episodes
Blog posts
Videos
No additional configuration is required. Once a focus key phrase is set, Autolink ensures that phrase links back to the correct page wherever it appears on your site.
Automatic and site-wide
Autolink operates across your entire site:
Existing pages are updated automatically.
New content is included as soon as it’s published.
Changes to wording or focus key phrases are reflected without manual updates.
This ensures your internal links remain accurate and consistent as your site grows.
Best practices
Choose focus key phrases that clearly match the primary topic of the page.
Avoid using overly broad phrases that may appear too frequently.
Assign focus key phrases only to pages you want to prioritize internally.
Summary
Autolink automatically creates internal links using the focus key phrases you already use. It improves crawlability and structure across your site while eliminating the need to manage links by hand.
